And there's FOOD involved too which is always good...

:D

The swaps I've done have always been themed, like Birthday or Thank You or Summer, etc. It's nice because you can stock up on cards that way (you can never have too many thank you cards on hand...) I like the idea of having a theme at the party to match the theme of the card. Like if you were doing a Summer themed party, you could all do summery cards and then have the party "picnic" style with lemonade and beachy tableware, etc.

RE: What fun things do you do at your card swaps?
Nancy Ann (3/24/2008)
I know some of you participate in monthly card swaps and and I was hoping to get some good ideas here. I'm holding my 2nd card swap at my home - you know...where everyone comes with 12 cards they made all the same and goes home with 12 different cards. Besides everyone sharing their cards and chatting about how things were done - what else do you do? I need some fun ideas. We have stamp camps here where people go to make cards, so that's not what this is about.

I'd appreciate any ideas!

-Nancy Ann
Hi Nancy Ann! This is a really good question. I'm in a monthly card club where we swap cards. We've done a few different things. Sometimes we'll have a class where we learn a new technique, other times we just make a fun card. Not like a stamp camp though. Twice a year we have a recipe exchange. Instead of swapping cards, we make 12 6x6 recipe cards for everyone and then we make that recipe and bring it to share. We design our recipe cards like we would a card. It's fun, and yummy too!

I just hosted our card club at my house 2 weeks ago. All I did was have everyone make a St. Patrick's Day card. It was fun. Some of the ladies in my group had never used Lizzie Anne stamps before...so I gave them a little tutorial. It might be fun to introduce a new product that you have fallen in love with. One time, I went to one (not my usual group) where the host wanted to share their excitement about the Crop-a-dile...so we learned how to use it. Sometimes it's just fun to visit. :) Sorry- I don't have a ton of ideas since I've only been in mine for less than a year. But, I'd love to hear if anyone else has any ideas!

What fun things do you do at your card swaps?

I know some of you participate in monthly card swaps and and I was hoping to get some good ideas here.
